Presented by the Warner Archive section of WBShop.com, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, after two decades of waiting, is finally available for purchase on DVD.
Deadly bacteria! Doomsday devices! Robotic spiders! Sound like a big budget sci-fi thriller?
Nope. Even better. It’s the 5-Disc, 26-Episode Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron Complete Series Collection.
Chance Furlong and Jake Clawson appear to be ordinary junkyard auto mechanics until trouble occurs in Megakat City. In a flash they fly their high-tech Turbokat toward danger as T-Bone and Razor: the Swat Kats.
The city is run by the power-hungry Commander Feral and his militant team of Megakat Enforcers. Jake and Chance were once Enforcers but Feral demoted them to working in the scrap yard, where the Swat Kats were born.
They take on any kind of menace from the undead sorcerer Pastmaster to lobster-like alien warlord Mutilor. The hardware-heavy action never stops in this animated fan-favorite from Hanna-Barbera Studios that’s fur-flying fun!
Important Note: This film has been manufactured from the best-quality video master currently available and has not been remastered or restored specifically for this DVD and Digital Download release.
SHIPS TO U.S. DESTINATIONS ONLY

Has anyone here heard of the SWAT Kats Collector’s Edition? I saw it at Comic-con and I considered buying it but I wasn’t sure of it’s legitimacy. I have never heard of a collector’s edition for this series. I couldn’t find any information on it online. Also, the episode “Succubus” was listed as one of the episodes and which, as far as I know, was never aired. Can anyone give me some information on this set?

There’s no such collector’s edition. What you saw was probably just another bootleg. The Succubus episode was never completed, though it occasionally finds its way onto episode listings for some unknown reason. If I were you I probably would’ve purchased it just to see what condition the bootleg was in in the off-chance that it contained any “Secret Files of the SWAT Kats” segments that appeared with the original airings (assuming the bootleg source was a VHS rip of some kind). These segments aren’t included in the current DVD release.
Currently, this is the only DVD Release.

Ohh I remember, back in the mid 1990s, when DVDs were still in the future and few people could even play VCDs, I started a SWAT-Kats CD-Rom project. The idea was to have all episodes on a CD-Rom. That would have given you about 20-30 Megabytes per episode. Codecs back then were really bad, so you had perhaps a 160×120 image with 4 fps in Cinepec or Indeo or something. It also would have included screenshots and the content of several SWAT-Kats releated websites, like mine, Avair’s and Dingo’s site http://rat.org/kats/ (I think I have a backup of it somewhere).
The idea was to spread it around by mail and setting up copying centres. Of course few people back then could write CD-Rs, and I didn’t have a burner. The project never went somewhere. I however had a framegrabber which could even record video. For quite a while the highest quality screenshots came from my system. :)
